How to Be More Productive

A formula for how to make significant progress on the things that matter in your work and life

*Puts phone down, takes another sip of coffee.*

I look up at my clock — 3:30 pm.

Where has this day gone?

I’ve done almost no valuable work, and made zero progress on the things that matter.

But I’ve been busy! I have hardly left my desk, and my head has been down the whole day.

It just seems like my to-do list is growing, rather than shrinking, and I’m not making any progress.

I’m stressed. I’m anxious.

To make things worse — it’s Friday. The week’s all but done.

For too long — this was me. I felt like a pinball, bouncing between tasks frantically. Working hard, no doubt. But I just wasn’t making any progress.

This extended into my personal life where I started feeling out of control and leading into a spiral. I’d get pangs of anxiety out of nowhere. I completely lost my sex drive, my will to exercise (something I’ve always loved), and I started withdrawing from those around me.

One day, I decided enough was enough. I was going to do something about it.
